 In English News

Under the educational philosophy of practicing all-round quality education, SuOn Academy hopes that students will not only achieve academic excellence, but also improve their extracurricular practical skills, and the Model United Nations (MUN) conference is a very good stage for practice. Model United Nations, referred to as MUN, is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral institutions of the simulation of academic simulation, is organized for young people’s civic education activities. It develops a variety of comprehensive skills in students, such as:

*It helps students to broaden their horizons, so that they can care about the world and think and discuss issues with an international perspective.

* It stimulates learning potential. The Model United Nations activity is an experiential activity, especially in the English conference, the delegates are integrated into the diplomatic situation and need to express themselves in English consciously and autonomously, such an environment greatly stimulates the enthusiasm of students to learn English.

* Exercise leadership skills. Model United Nations activities are a highly interactive learning experience in which young people not only learn and discuss international affairs, but also practice their ability to organize, plan and manage, research and write, speak and debate, resolve conflicts, seek common ground while reserving differences, and communicate and interact with others. These abilities will benefit students for a lifetime.

Since the beginning of the school year, the SuOn MUN team has insisted on weekly training, and at the same time, SuOn has hired a gold medal MUN coach to provide special guidance to students. On February 21st, the SuOn MUN team took part in a large-scale MUN tournament in Toronto, which was attended by more than 300 student representatives from all over the country, and SuOn Academy was the only non-native English-speaking team to participate in the tournament. After an intense competition, the SuOn team won the best representative team!

In this competition, students realized that it is not enough to focus only on their own academic performance, but also need to have a sense of responsibility for the nation, the country and even the world. We all came to the same stage to express our ideas and proposals bravely, adding unlimited possibilities for building a safer and more stable world in the future. For high school students, this kind of experience and ability can definitely make people stand out, which is more conducive to winning the starting line when they enter the university. We hope that more students will join Model UN to add opportunities and challenges to their high school lives.
