Family is the fertile ground for personal growth, and Wang Yiming’s success is inseparable from his father’s profound influence. “My father works at a university in a field closely related to engineering,” Wang explains. “From a young age, I was immersed in this environment and naturally developed a keen interest in engineering.” His father’s passion for academia and rigorous professional attitude made a lasting impression on him, ultimately guiding his decision to pursue engineering. With his family’s support, Wang was able to set clear goals for his future and dedicate himself fully to achieving them.

Personal Effort: The Power of Self-Discipline

At school, Wang Yiming is universally recognized by teachers and peers as a model of self-discipline. Reflecting on his habits, he says, “I consider myself an ‘early riser.’ I might not be especially gifted, but I make up for it with consistency.”

Since Grade 12, he has adhered to a strict routine of arriving at the classroom for self-study at 6:30 every morning. Regardless of frigid winters or intense exam seasons, he is always the first to arrive, welcoming each day’s studies with the morning’s first light. In addition, Wang actively participates in the school’s Peer Tutoring program, where he has accumulated over 100 hours of volunteer tutoring. He patiently helps classmates tackle academic challenges, sharing his knowledge and experience to guide them. This spirit of generosity and service not only boosts his own academic performance but also sets a positive example for everyone around him.
